Bush clan mostly on board with a Jeb presidential bid

The Bush family appears to be coalescing around the idea of Jeb Bush presidential run, despite some hesitation from members of the family who were concerned about entering the national spotlight for the third time.

Jeb Bush, Jr., the son of the former Florida governor, said the excitement of a possible presidential run is spreading.

"No question," he told the New York Times in an interview. "People are getting fired up about it -- donors and people who have been around the political process for a while, people he's known in Tallahassee when he was governor. The family, we're geared up either way."

One of the two likely holdouts was Bush's wife, Columba, who Jeb Jr. says is now on board. Earlier this month, Jeb Bush told the Associated Press that his wife would be "supportive," should he run.

The other reluctant member of the family is his mother, Barbara Bush, who hasn't held back about her belief that the family should be done with presidential politics.

"There's no question in my mind that Jeb is the best qualified person to run for president, but I hope he won't," Mrs. Bush said in an interview on C-SPAN in January. "If we can't find more than two or three families to run for high office, that's silly, because there are great governors and great eligible people to run."

She hasn't necessarily changed her mind, but sources close to the family told the Times that she has been convinced to keep those views to herself for now.

The rest of the family continues to weigh in. Jeb Bush's other son, George P. Bush, said in an ABC News interview over the weekend that it's "more than likely" his dad will run for president in 2016.

Bush has indicated he'll make a decision by the end of the year.
